In the five matches Brazil has played so far in the Paris Olympics, coach Arthur Elias has not repeated the lineup once. He did not want to give any hints about the team he will field this Saturday (10th) for the final match against the United States at the Parc des Princes in Paris.

Against Nigeria, the five most experienced players in the National Team started the match: Antônia, Rafaelle, Tamires, Ludmila, and Marta. In the following match, two of them were already absent from the starting list—Ludmila and Tamires. Against Spain, only Ludmila from that quintet started the game.

The changes extended to other positions. Against Japan, in the second round of the group stage, there were six changes compared to the game against Nigeria. In the match against Spain, still in Group C, Arthur Elias swapped seven players from those who started against Japan.

At the beginning of the knockout stage, there were another seven changes for the game against France, showcasing the best performance of the Brazilian National Team up to that point. For the subsequent match against Spain, there were again several changes: five.

This is how coach Arthur Elias works with the Brazilian National Team. It’s his method. Therefore, in training, he tests various formations. He maintains a high level of competitiveness, and his instructions are communicated in sync to all the players.

Even before the Olympics, the coach did this in two friendly matches against Jamaica in June, fielding two practically different teams. However, the objective there was different. He wanted to see several players in action to gather more information for finalizing the squad for the Paris Games.
