Before dedicating himself exclusively to the Brazilian Women’s Team, the five-time Brazilian champion coach, Arthur Elias, will still face the Libertadores challenge with Corinthians.
Announced as coach of Canarinho on September 1st, the commander spoke, in an exclusive interview with CBF TV, about the importance of his career at Corinthians in the evolution of national women’s football and made an assessment of his path to the Seleção.
“These eight years at Corinthians certainly helped me a lot to be a better professional, to have international experiences in South America in relation to Libertadores da América. In addition to all the baggage of the confronting system.”

Arthur Elias is the longest-serving coach in Corinthians history. There are eight consecutive seasons and 15 titles, including five Brazilian Championships and three Libertadores.
He began his career in women’s football at the age of 24, in 2009. He played for Nacional and Centro Olímpico, where he won his first Brazilian Championship in the sport in 2013. At 42 years old and part of his life dedicated to women’s football, Arthur Elias made a point of commenting on this importance.
“When women’s football went to the big clubs, using the structures, we managed to equalize the conditions a little more, the level of play improved and the preparation of the athletes too. I followed all this and this entire process of evolution that we had and it can indeed reflect on the Brazilian team achieving better results.”
For the new commander, integration with the youth categories will be the strong point of the CBF women’s football department.
“It is very important because the exchange of information, the exchange of concepts, especially the relationships that we have to establish will strengthen all categories”.
