After his debut at the head of the Brazilian Women’s Team, Arthur Elias celebrated the 1-0 victory this Saturday (28), in a friendly played at the Saputo Stadium, in Montreal (CAN). With a goal from Debinha in the 49th minute of the second half, Brazil created countless chances throughout the match, a performance praised by the coach.
“We behaved well, except for the first 15 minutes. Canada found a lot of space between the lines, but we corrected it quickly and managed to improve. It was a balanced first half, with more chances for us. In the second half we adjusted the team with the ball to continue with aggressive marking. Brazil was dominant and deserved the victory. I was very satisfied with the players’ attitude and understanding”, he praised.

The coach started the attack with Cristiane, Geyse and Marta. In the second half, Gabi Nunes, Debinha and Bia Zaneratto were chosen by the coach to open the scoring. In the press conference, he praised the dedication and performance of the attackers.
“The attacking trio that came in did well, but the one who started was also able to correct things in the first half. Creating opportunities. It’s a question of sequence. The important thing is to have the spirit they had to play together”, he stated.
Arthur also reinforced that he and his coaching staff will focus on the players’ recovery and take into account Brazil’s evolution process as a team to select the best team for the next friendly.
“We will still analyze Tuesday’s game. The game is close, the players need to recover. We will make decisions thinking about winning, but also in some processes that we need to use these friendlies to create consistency”, he said.
The Brazilian Women’s Team will face Canada again next Tuesday (31), at 7:30 pm (Brasília time), at the Wanderer Grounds Stadium, in Halifax (CAN).
