The Brazilian National Team has qualified for the quarterfinals of the 2024 Concacaf Copa Ouro. After the 1-0 victory over Colombia in the early hours of Sunday (25) at Snapdragon Stadium in California, coach Arthur Elias held a press conference and analyzed the players’ performance in the continental classic.

“The response that the players gave me, especially in the first half, was very good. I think they got tired in the second half, we had some issues with transition, and Colombia was not yet at their best. We have the mission here to grow throughout the competition. That’s the goal.”

“The important thing for us is to prepare. So, I am very satisfied. As I said in the first game, which wasn’t so interesting, you can see that there are many things we were building, that we also had saved to do differently today.”

With the Olympics on the horizon, the focus of the “Amarelinha” coach is, obviously, winning the competition, but also the opportunity to conduct tests for Brazil’s growth and performance improvement.

“Our goal will always be to win, but, at the same time, in this competition, it’s about evaluating the possibilities we have, both of athletes I trust and of the game system and situations we can use in the group stage and strategies for the knockout stage.”

The team will face another challenge in the group stage: a match against Panama in the early hours of Wednesday (28) at 12:15 AM (Brasília time).
