After just two wins from their opening five Serie A games, Juve also suffered a 2-0 loss to Barcelona in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Pirlo, who took charge in August, said while the Italian giants were rebuilding, he still wanted to win.
“No, it’s a year in which we’re building, but we want to try and reach results. I’m not here to build without winning,”
the Juve coach told his post-match news conference.
Barca bounced back in style from their Clasico defeat to Real Madrid at the weekend. Goals from Ousmane Dembele and Lionel Messi secured them a 2-0 victory over Juventus at the Allianz stadium, making it back to back wins in group G. Morata could have bagged a hatrick but saw three of his goals ruled out due to offside.
Juve failed to register a shot on target against the Catalan giants and were obviously the weaker side throughout the game. Koeman did feel his side should have wrapped up the game earlier than they ultimately did.
“This was our best game all season,” he said as per the club’s social channel.
“This is a big win against an important European side and we were able to play the football we’re trying to impose.”
Barca were dominant throughout, making 227 more passes than Juve and enjoyed more than half of possession.
The Catalan giants will be looking to claim another win when they travel to Deportivo Alaves on Saturday. Juventus will be looking to return to winning ways when they take on Spezia in the Serie A on Sunday.
