Arsenal is looking to strengthen their midfield in the upcoming summer transfer window. The Gunners have set their sights on a Brazilian international midfielder playing in the Premier League: Douglas Luiz.

Well-placed to secure a Champions League qualification next season, the London club aims to bring more technical and physical quality to their midfield. According to the Spanish media outlet Fichajes, Arsenal has been closely monitoring the profile of the Aston Villa player for several weeks now.

At 25 years old, Douglas Luiz still has two years left on his contract with the Villans. However, having been capped 10 times for Brazil, he may be tempted by a challenge at a bigger club. The Gunners have reportedly initiated initial discussions with his representatives.

Currently, the midfielder is focused on finishing the season with Aston Villa. Nevertheless, he wouldn’t rule out a departure if his team fails to secure a European qualification. Arsenal seems to be in the lead to secure the services of the Brazilian international, who would bring his experience and technical skills to the London side.
