In the midst of a crucial match in Sevilla, Gabriel Jesus found himself grappling with a hamstring injury, prompting the need for a forthcoming medical scan. His notable contribution to Arsenal’s fortunes saw him net the second goal, propelling the team to a 2-1 victory and reinstating their commanding position in the Champions League group standings.

Arsenal’s win and the fall of Jesus
Arsenal secured their lead just before halftime with a well-executed goal courtesy of Gabriel Martinelli. Then, eight minutes into the second half, Jesus extended their advantage with a precision strike.
The tragic moment arrived in the 81st minute when Jesus, while contending with a challenge from Boubakary Soumare, had to leave the field, noticeably limping due to what seemed to be a twist in his hamstring.
Although Sevilla managed to pull one back through Nemanja Gudelj, Arsenal clung to their lead, securing a pivotal victory and reaffirming their dominance in Group B of the Champions League, a group that also featured Lens and PSV.

After the game, in a conversation with TNT Sports, Jesus exuded confidence that the injury might not be a severe setback, although a thorough medical evaluation was scheduled. Manager Mikel Arteta, in the post-match interview with TNT, exulted in the win, noting that it was a rare feat for visiting teams to triumph in Sevilla in European competitions. However, the focus turned to the injury sustained by Jesus. He said,
“He felt something in his hamstring. He straight away asked to be subbed, which is not good news, because he’s not the kind of player who does that. So we’ll have to wait and see in the next few days”
Arsenal’s upcoming schedule looms with significant challenges. They are set to face Sheffield United in the Premier League, followed by a demanding League Cup encounter against West Ham merely four days later. They will also await the return match against Sevilla, with the Spanish club scheduled to visit the Emirates on November 8.
