Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus suffered another injury with Arsenal in the Champions League victory over Sevilla. Released prematurely, he missed the following Premier League match against Sheffield United.

Following this incident, Mikel Arteta was cautious about his striker’s return to play. When questioned, the Spanish coach refused to give a precise timetable because he had already been wrong in the past. “We have to be careful with Gabriel, treat him in the right way so that he gets back into shape as quickly as possible. But his health is our priority,” Arteta said.

In the meantime, the absence of the Brazilian allowed Eddie Nketiah to show off by scoring a hat-trick against Sheffield. Jesus, for his part, underwent medical examinations on Thursday to determine the extent of his thigh discomfort.

Arteta remains worried

In the meantime, he was reassuring on social networks after being voted man of the match against Sevilla. But Arteta’s words suggest a certain concern.

The first results seem to indicate a minor injury according to Jesus. A new medical update is expected this weekend to clarify his unavailability for Arsenal’s next games.
