Manchester United has officially declared that Brazilian winger Antony is set to make his return to training amidst the cloud of allegations involving domestic abuse. Antony, a 23-year-old talent, engaged in a discussion with Greater Manchester Police, and notably, no immediate restrictions were imposed on him following this conversation.

It is crucial to mention that Antony has presented substantial evidence to support his vigorous denials of these allegations. Importantly, no arrests or charges have been levied against him either in Brazil or the UK.

Will Antony be participating in upcoming Premier League matches?

In a statement, the club emphasized its role as Antony’s employer and announced its decision to permit his return to training at Carrington, making him available for potential selection, all while the police inquiries continue to unfold. However, it’s important to note that Antony will not be participating in training on Friday, and his participation in United’s upcoming Premier League match against Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday has been ruled out.

Antony had previously been granted a leave of absence with full pay by United to address allegations made by three different women, including his former partner Gabriela Cavallin.

The most notable allegation, published by the Brazilian news outlet UOL, revolves around an incident in a Manchester hotel room in January, wherein Antony allegedly assaulted Cavallin with a headbutt, leading to a head injury that required medical treatment.

As a club, they firmly denounce acts of violence and abuse and are committed to recognizing the significance of safeguarding all individuals involved in this complex situation, acknowledging the profound impact these allegations can have on survivors of abuse.
