On Tuesday (6), the Brazilian National Team secured its spot in the final of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. After 16 years away from an Olympic final, the team will face the United States with a medal already guaranteed. Midfielder Angelina commented on the team’s unity and confidence in the victory over Spain in the semifinal.
“We came into the game very confident. We played very well against France, and that gave us more confidence for today’s match. We knew that Spain is a team that reacts in the last minutes of the game, but we managed to hold on, and everything went well,” she said.

With the victory over the world champions, the Brazilian National Team will take the field in search of its first Olympic gold on Saturday (10) at 12 PM.
Angelina has played 29 matches with the Brazilian National Team and was captain in the match against Spain. Under the command of coach Arthur Elias, she has received five call-ups. She has proven to be increasingly important for Brazil and could not contain her emotion at the historic qualification for the final.
“It’s hard to believe, hard to take in, because everyone dreams of being in a moment like this. I want to congratulate the group a lot because we came together and said we would succeed, and we made it happen,” she stated.
The midfielder also highlighted a factor that has been troubling the Brazilian team: injuries. Even with some players injured, the National Team has not let that affect them and continues to represent Brazil in the Olympics.
“I thank God very much for the strength. There are many girls injured, tired, but it’s a final in every game. We knew it would be like this in the Olympics, and today was no different,” she concluded.
