Angelina feels at home when she represents the Brazilian National Team. She has already been part of the U-17 and U-20 teams of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) and has been part of the main squad for a long time. Two weeks before Brazil’s debut at the Paris Olympics, she finds herself in the expectation of the start of the competition and recognizes how difficult Brazil’s group is, with Nigeria, Japan and Spain as opponents. However, she adds, she considers the other groups to be very balanced as well.

“There will be no easy games for anyone. Each game is a final. As it is a short competition, the level of demand is very high. Brazil has a lot of talent, with a lot of capacity in the squad. We will create many difficulties for the other teams, just as they will do the same with our National Team.”

For the midfielder, who spent much of her childhood in Jacarepaguá, in the west side of Rio, the excellent moment of the Orlando Pride – the club also lent three other players (Adriana, Marta and Rafaelle) to the National Team – can be an extra trump card for Brazil at the Olympics.

“We are doing very well in the club and that makes us arrive with even more confidence in the National Team.”

Angelina has already been with the Brazilian National Team at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games and the World Cup last year. Due to her entire history, she has plenty of experience with the Seleção.

“I am very happy to be here, very happy to see my club teammates on the list. Regardless of being a substitute, I am here to contribute. I am very grateful to be able to experience another Olympics,” she said.
