It was a long wait for the 19-year-old Brazilian midfielder, who came on late in the match at Anfield, where Nottingham Forest, the club where he is on loan, lost 3-0 to Liverpool.

His situation

After being loaned to Vasco during the first half, the club that revealed him, Andrey arrived permanently at Chelsea in July. The Brazilian revelation performed well during the Blues’ pre-season, but was not included in Mauricio Pochettino’s list of players available for the Premier League.

Andrey faced a daunting challenge as he sought to establish himself in Chelsea’s bloated squad, particularly after the arrivals of Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia. To get playing time and experience, Andrey was loaned to Nottingham Forest. However, he hasn’t had many opportunities so far. His first appearance was a League Cup match against Burnley, where he played 90 minutes. But it was only on the 10th day of the Premier League that the young Brazilian was able to realize his dream of playing in the English elite.

A patience that pays off

After the match at Anfield, Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper spoke about the Brazilian player’s situation.

“ We try to integrate new players as best as possible while remaining competitive. Mangala had received a yellow card late in the second half, and it was a good opportunity to give some minutes to Andrey, who replaced him. He is waiting patiently, training well, and now we will see how far he can go ,” Cooper said.
