After several months of speculation, the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) finally made a decision regarding the future of the national team. Fernando Diniz will be the interim coach of the Seleção until June 2024, when Carlo Ancelotti would take over.
The Italian strategist ends his contract with Real Madrid this season, so from January he can officially sign a pre-contract with any other entity. From Brazil they take his arrival for granted, but because he still has a commitment to the Spanish giant, from Carletto’s environment they would have asked the president of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, for restraint.

Ancelotti and Real Madrid put a brake on Brazil
Rodrigues spoke openly about the future arrival of Ancelotti, something that would not have gone down well in Madrid. As reported by Marca, the Brazilian was asked to lower the tone of the statements and the tone of pressure in relation to the figure of the Italian DT. José Ángel Sánchez, leader of the Merengues, would have called the president of the Brazilian FA to express his concern.
Even Ancelotti himself had a supposed contact with Rodrigues to make it clear that his energy is still focused on Madrid. Although he would be in the last year of his contract, Madrid have a challenging campaign ahead of them after being left empty-handed both in the league and in European competition last year.
Carletto would only take over the reins of the Brazilian team in June 2024, when his current relationship with the club from the Spanish capital ends. Meanwhile, Diniz will lead Brazil on an interim basis for the start of the Qualifiers alongside his position at Fluminense.
