Ancelotti criticizes Vinicius Junior’s absence among FIFA The Best nominees

In a recent statement, Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his displeasure at the absence of Vinicius Junior among the finalists for the prestigious FIFA The Best award. Ancelotti called the omission “strange” and said the list was a bad choice.

Vinicius Junior, who had previously been included in the list of 14 nominees, was not selected by the players affiliated with Fifpro, responsible for the final selection. This decision surprised and disappointed many observers, including Ancelotti himself.

Vinicius Junior excluded from FIFA The Best list

Ancelotti said: “I don’t know how this list was compiled, but it is strange not to see Vinicius among the finalists. In my opinion, this is a mistake. This list didn’t work.”

We may wonder why Vinicius Junior was excluded, when he was voted best player of the Club World Cup. Fifpro has more than 60,000 affiliated members, all of whom voted for the three best players in each position: goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers.

Unfortunately for Vinicius Junior, he failed to get enough votes to be among the finalists. The highest ranked players are those who are selected for the final roster, which will be revealed soon. Three defenders, three midfielders, three attackers and a goalkeeper will be the lucky ones. The last name will be given to the outfield player with the most votes.

The selection of the year will be revealed during the FIFA The Best awards ceremony, which will be held on February 27 in Paris, France. The final decision is already generating a lot of attention and debate among football fans and professionals.
