Goalkeeper Alisson is determined. A starter for the Brazilian National Team in the last two World Cups, the Liverpool player is the security in the Brazilian goal in this Copa América. On Tuesday (2), he is confirmed in the match against Colombia, in Santa Clara. The game decides the group leader in the first phase of the continental competition. With 67 games for Brazil, Alisson wants even more and said he is always preparing to be the best goalkeeper.

“Longevity is linked to consistency. I want to always be the best goalkeeper in Brazil, England and the world. Training is essential for this. From the moment your career reaches a certain point, you see that other choices make the difference. I have to work very hard to arrive at the games well prepared. Always play well to convince Dorival to call me up and choose me as number 1,” said Alisson.

“The competition is very strong, other goalkeepers are always here too, like Éderson. I have focused a lot on consistency, I believe that is the reason why I have been wearing the Brazilian national team jersey for many years,” he added.

In the press conference held on Monday (1) at the Levi’s Stadium, Alisson analyzed the confrontation against Colombia and said that the Seleção needs to avoid the long-distance shots from the opponent. The match will be broadcast on the various platforms of the Globo Group from 10 pm (Brasilia time).

Brazil is in second place in the group, with four points. On Friday (28), the Seleção defeated Paraguay 4-1 in Las Vegas. On the 24th, the team led by Dorival Júnior drew with Costa Rica. Colombia, on the other hand, has six points.

“They have been a weapon that teams have used a lot against us. It needs the attention of everyone, I don’t play alone. We need to neutralize these long-distance shots. We need to minimize the risks. If we don’t concede goals, we will always be close to victory,” he stated.

“Our mentality is game by game, there’s no use thinking about the quarterfinals, the possible opponent or logistics, if tomorrow we don’t have the classification and the victory to bring confidence. Our head is on Colombia,” he concluded.
