Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker was the only Brazilian representative to be included in the best player in the world xi FIFPro.
The team was announced at The Best award ceremony on Thursday in Zurich.
Neymar was a surprise omission from the list as he was widely expected to make the final cut for the FIFPro XI.
The FIFPro team was mostly dominated by Champions League winners Bayern Munich and Liverpool who ended a long-wait to lift the Premier League title.
The German giants had four players in the team. Left-back Alphonso Davies, midfielders Joshua Kimmich, Thiago Alcântara (now at Liverpool) and the impressive Robert Lewandowski who won the men’s best player of the year award on the same day.
For Liverpool, their own dominance in the team came in defence. In goal, Brazilian Alisson Becker got the nod ahead of Neuer and Oblak while Alexander-Arnold and Van Dijk were among the defenders.
The defence was completed by defender Sergio Ramos who captained Real Madrid to their 34th La Liga crown.
In midfield, midfielder Kevin de Bruyne was given the nod as well as the ever-green duo of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo who have featured in the team on multiple occasions over the past decade.
Ronaldo and Messi were named in the FIFPro team for the 14th year in succession and that is a record held by both players. The second closest to that feat is Real Madrid’s Sergio Ramos who made the cut for the 11th time.
Mbappe, Hazard, Marcelo, Modric, De Ligt are among a host of players that made last year’s edition and missed out on the current one.
Alisson continues to fly the Brazilian flag high with his exploits and has been one of the very best in his position for a couple of years now.
