Al-Hilal, the flagship team of the Saudi Pro League, are preparing to attempt the incredible by recruiting the famous Brazilian footballer Neymar, currently player of Paris Saint-Germain.

So, according to Santi Aouna of Foot Mercato, Al-Hilal plans to send a delegation of negotiators to start talks with the player.

Lionel Messi’s departure from the Parc des Princes earlier this summer may have been the straw that broke the camel’s back, as 31-year-old Neymar has reportedly shown interest in leaving the Parisian club during this transfer window as well. His father denied it.

It was also reported today (9) that the club no longer has plans for him.

Al-Hilal in pole position for Neymar

With Al-Hilal’s serious interest in the often injury-prone prodigy, the likelihood of Neymar leaving Ligue 1 after six years has increased significantly.

Renowned for their determination and inexhaustible financial resources, Saudi clubs hit the transfer market hard this summer, securing all the players they could.

Jorge Jesus’ side are still in the hunt for an attacking superstar after facing stiff opposition from Lionel Messi and Neymar’s longtime attacking partner Kylian Mbappé.

The latter rejected a juicy offer from Al-Hilal at the end of July, a decision he may well regret as PSG took major legal action against him last Tuesday.

However, Neymar might be easier to persuade than the 24-year-old French wonderkid, who only has eyes to join mighty Real Madrid, whatever the cost.

Neymar has been out of favor with PSG’s Ultras for a while, while his frequent downtime continues to frustrate club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.
