Antoine Griezmann became Atlético Madrid’s all-time top scorer with his goal in the defeat against Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup. The Frenchman reached 174 conquests and surpassed the mark of 173 reached by the legend Luis Aragonés.

Further down, the list includes Spanish forwards who wore the red and white shirt several decades ago, such as Adrián Escudero (played for the club between 1945 and 1958) and Paco Campos (1939-1948). Also some who did it more recently, like Fernando Torres, who is in sixth place with 129 goals.

The Latin American presence is also strong on the list, with names such as the Argentine Sergio Agüero (101 goals), the Uruguayan Diego Forlán (96), the Mexican Hugo Sánchez (82) and the Colombian Radamel Falcao (70), among others.

Brazil also has its representatives. Born in the country and naturalized Spanish, Diego Costa scored 83 times during the two stages he wore the Colchonero uniform and is ranked 17th among all-time scorers.

In position 27, with 61 conquests, is Baltazar, a striker born in Goiânia who shone for Celta de Vigo and Atlético Madrid, a club with which he became Pichichi during the 1988/89 season by scoring 35 goals.

The club now has Samuel Lino, which was the 30rd Brazilian to ever score for Atlético.

Griezmann will be able to increase the harvest and take revenge for the Copa del Rey

Beyond his individual conquest, the Frenchman finished the match with a bittersweet feeling, since it was Real Madrid that reached the final of the Spanish Super Cup after winning the derby 5-3.

The Little Prince will have an immediate opportunity to increase his legend and take revenge for what happened in Saudi Arabia when both teams meet again on January 18 in the Copa del Rey.
