Frontale showed no respect to their hosts and made no intention about their desire to win the game from the very onset.
They would need only 45 minutes to complete on a FC Tokyo side that finished runners up last season in the J-league.
The Tamagawa Classico is always a tough fixture but Frontale always find a way to come out on top. The latest victory was an emphatic one.
Ryota Oshima started the rout for the hosts and got the the opening goal in the 17th minute. Leandro Damiao had a point to prove after an own goal in his side’s last outing. He made amends for that with Frontale’s second of the evening just six minutes later.
There was still more to come from Kawasaki in the first half. Five minutes later, Tatsuya Hasegawa effectively ended the tie with a brilliant finish. Just on the stroke of half time, the 26-year-old completed his brace and scored what was a crushing goal to all but secure the win.
For FC Tokyo, that loss was their first of the season and was a disappointing one to concede. The capital side finished runners-up last season and intended to start this one in bright fashion.
That victory took Frontale to seven points and second position on the log standings. They are only behind Cerezo Osaka who occupy first spot with three wins from their three games so far.
Frontale have now recorded two successive wins against tricky oppositions. For their next outing, they will host newly promoted outfit Kashiwa Reysol next on the 11th of July.
