After a dominant first-half display failed to produce the goods, Juve made the pressure count early in the second period. Five minutes after the restart, Paulo Dybala found himself through on goal and opened the scoring for Maurizio Sarri.
It wasn’t long before Cristiano Ronaldo made the headlines as well. The Portuguese drifted through the midfield and picked out the top right-hand corner of the net in sensational fashion from 25 yards out.
That goal was the 24th of the season for Ronaldo and it meant the 35-year-old is just one goal away from becoming the first Juventus player to reach the 25-goal mark since Omar Sivori in 1960-61.
Douglas Costa also scored a screamer as he curled in an exquisite third shortly after coming on as a substitute to wrap up Juve"s third successive league win since the restart. It also meant a lot to the Brazilian as it was his first goal of an injury-hampered season for him.
Genoa got a consolation goal later on when Pinamonti finished from a tight angle.
Juventus head coach Maurizio Sarri was quick to praise his players for their individual efforts.
“In the second half we lead thanks to our single players because we scored on three excellent plays by three single men," Juve head coach Sarri said.
“Paulo"s [Dybala] great slalom, the outstanding Ronaldo"s shoot, incredible for its precision and strength and the sensible touch from [Douglas Costa]."
The victory meant the Bianconeri maintain their four-point lead over Lazio who are chasing intently. Up next for Juventus is a Turin derby as they face Torino on Saturday.
