The club had been in talks with the youngster since April and after a lot of stalling, a breakthrough was finally made.
“I am very happy to renew, because it was a club that welcomed me when I was 16 years old. It’s been five years wearing this shirt and I can’t help feeling at home, both in Chapecoense and in the city of Chapecó.” Guedes said as quoted on the club’s official website.
“The fan can expect a very motivated, very happy guy. I’m from the house, I have a lot of identification with Chape so delivery and love the shirt will never be missing” he added.
Guedes made his professional debut for Chapecoense this season and played two games as a starter in the Catarinense Championship. The youngster was in stellar form for the club as he scored his debut goal in his first game against Joinville. His brilliant form was brought to a halt when play was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Play has just resumed in the country once again and the Brazilian has spoken about his intention to resume the season in good form.
“I already had the anxiety to start playing naturally again, with this extension of the contract, it increased even more. I can’t wait to be able to go back on the field, wear the shirt of Chapecoense and give joy to our fans”.
Since joining the club at grassroots level, Guedes has been tipped to grow into a key player for the club in the nearest future. The 20-year-old looks to be doing just that now and looks only likely to improve with time.
