The Brazilian is no doubt one of the most experienced defenders in Europe and it’s no surprise clubs would still want his services even at the age of 35.
The Brazilian has been a huge part of the success PSG have enjoyed in recent years.
Since he arrived at the Parc des Princes, Silva has helped the French giants to lift seven titles during his spell in France.
However, at 35, his contract is coming to an end and he is yet to sign a new deal, despite being offered a one-year extension. That leaves the door open for a potential exit and Everton have emerged as a likely destination.
And now, French publication Le10Sport claim that Everton are well in the race to sign Silva. Although, the Toffees face stern competition from AC Milan.
Everton will be hoping to use the relationship of Carlo Ancelotti to swing things in their favour. The Italian boss worked with Silva in Paris previously and is clearly a fan of the defender.
In 2013, Silva praised Ancelotti and credited him for helping him get acclimated to the European game.
“I’ve worked with a lot of coaches in my career, but one man stands out, and that’s Mr. Ancelotti.”
“It wasn’t easy for me to find my feet when I first arrived in Europe. When I joined AC Milan I didn’t play for six months. But I was training under a great coach in Carlo Ancelotti.”
“I can’t stress how important those six months were – they changed my life.”
It’s logical that if anyone can convince Silva to make a move, Carlo Ancelotti pretty much fits the bill.
However, the Brazilian defender also has links with AC Milan having starred for them before he joined PSG.
Many outlets have reported that Carlo Ancelotti is looking to add some steel and experience to his lineup and Silva will make a fine addition of that.
Despite his age of 35, Silva would still offer a lot to any side in terms of his experience and leadership abilities.
Signing the Brazilian would be a statement of intent for Everton and for Carlo Ancelotti who is ready to lead the club to become one of the contenders in England.
