English Premier league team Wigan have released defender Emerson Thome after 18 months at the club.
The Brazilian has made just 20 appearances since joining The Latics in 2004.
Thome started his career with Benfica before moving to England, where he enjoyed spells with various teams including Sheffield Wednesday, Chelsea, Sunderland, Bolton and a loan spell at Derby County. Thome has played more games in England than any other Brazilian player.
