At 32, Roberto Carlos knows 2006 will be his last World Cup.

The vice-champion of the world in 1998 in France and champion in 2002 confirmed this to press “I will not dispute the World cup in 2010. I will leave my place to the younger players who are pushing at the door for my succession” he revealed.

But the Real Madrid defender does not think giving up his shirt immediately after the World Cup. Indeed, the native of Garça plans to defend the colours of his country in the next Copa América and Coupe of the Confederations.

Roberto Carlos, Cafu and Ronaldo will have their final chance next year to win the last World cup of their career.
