Middlesbrough have completed the signing of midfielder Fabio Rochemback from Barcelona.

Middlesbrough, famed as Juninho Paulista’s English club have signed a string of Brazilian players in recent years.

The 23-year-old who has been on loan at Sporting Lisbon since 2003 and helped them win the 2004 Portuguese title and reach the Uefa Cup final last year.

Rochemback agreed personal terms with Middlesbrough before Wednesday’s midnight deadline. Boro paid approximatly £1m for his services.

Mean while in Scotland, surprise league leaders Hearts have signed midfielder Samuel Almeida Camazzola on a loan deal from Juventude.

UPDATE:

Everton have signed Brazilian midfielder Anderson Silva. However the 23-year-old has joined Malaga on loan until December 31 as The Toffees have been unable to secure the player a work permit as yet.

Silva left Racing Santander earlier in the summer when his deal expired and was courted by a host of Europes top sides.
