Carlos Alberto Parreira calls for calm after Brazil’s defeat to Mexico, “Every time Brazil get beaten it’s considered a national disaster but that’s not the case, you’ve got to look at how we were beaten”.

At the after game press conference the Brazilian coach praised the defending of the Mexican team “It doesn’t matter how many Ronaldinhos and Robinhos you have in your team, how much ability you have when you’re opponents can defend well like Mexico a result’s going to be tough to get.”

Parreira then turned his attention to Wednesday crunch game against Zico’s Japan “Our top priority now is to get a result against Japan”. He added: “We want to qualify. Japan are well organised and well experienced, but our aim is to go through.”

Mexico are now assured a top two finish on six points while Brazil have to win or draw against Japan to be assured the other semi-final spot from group B.

Parreira, who had kept the same line-up for the second group, said he’d be making three or four changes to the side.
