Its is being widely reported that the transfer of Brazil striker Robinho from Santos to Real Madrid is a done deal.

Roberto Carlos seemed to confirm football’s worst kept secret at a press conference at Brazil’s training centre in Granja de Comary, Teresopolis, where Brazil are preparing for their World Cup qualifiers against Paraguay on Sunday and Argentina later in the week.

“Robinho is coming to a great club which has an great infrastructure. Real is different from other clubs and Robinho will play better there than he did at Santos,” said Roberto Carlos.

Other news out of the Brazil camp was that injured striker Grafite will not be travelling in his place Parreira has recalled Julio Baptista.

Grafite injured his knee on Wednesday while playing for Sao Paulo, in the quarter-finals of the Copa Libertadores. Grafite was originally called up as a replacement for Ronaldo.

Baptista, who plays in Spain for Sevilla, was picked for the team to play at the Confederations Cup in Germany later this month, but he had originally been left off the qualifying squad.
