Flamengo has named Celso Roth as the new coach, the team’s third in 2 1/2 months.
Roth, who last year led Goias to sixth place in the national competition, replaces Stival Cuca, who was fired a week ago after Flamengo was beaten at home by Ceara in the first leg of the round of 16 of the Brazilian Cup.
Last year, Flamengo barely avoided relegation in the Brazilian championship finishing 17th.
