Vasco da Gama and Palmeiras have both signed new coaches before the start of the Brazilian championship on Saturday.
Vasco announced that Dario Lourenco would take over from Joel Santana, who resigned on Wednesday following a 3-0 home defeat to third division Baraunas in the Copa Brasil. Lourenco, led Volta Redonda to the final of the Carioca championship (losing to Fluminese).
In Sao Paulo state, Palmeiras announced Paulo Bonamigo would be replacing Candinho, who resigned following Tuesday’s defeat to Santo Andre in the South American Libertadores Cup.
