Lyon"s injured striker Giovane Elber has confirmed he has held preliminary talks with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Brazilian ace is currently on the sidelines after undergoing a knee operation, but is expected to return to training in the coming months.
Elber, formerly of Bayern Munich, is keen to seal a Bundesliga return and has spoken to Gladbach sporting director Christian Hochstatter – although nothing has been agreed.
The Samba star has stated Lyon will demand a fee for his services, but added the club are willing to let him depart Stade de Gerland.
“It is true that we met [with Hochstatter] but nothing has been determined yet," Elber told the Bild daily.
“Gladbach has a good name and my former team-mate Stefan Effenberg told me good things about the club.
“Lyon will certainly want a fee for me but they have promised me they will not stand in the way of a move."
