After Matchday 10 of the 2024 Brasileirão, four giants are starting to flirt with relegation: Fluminense, Grêmio, Corinthians, and Vasco da Gama.
Fluminense are bottom of the standings with just six points in 10 matches, while Grêmio has the same number of points but with two games in hand. Timão and Vascão, meanwhile, have only one more point than the two teams below them.

Even though the championship is long and the season has just begun, the fear of relegation can never be underestimated in Brazil. Last year, everyone saw Santos, a team that had never been relegated from the top tier, drop to Série B for the first time in history. And before that, many other giants in the country had to play in the second division.
In the meantime, other teams are enjoying a good start to the year. Flamengo, for example, climbed to the top spot by defeating Bahia, leaving Botafogo in second place along with Palmeiras, who beat Bragantino.
