Following an intense group stage, the 2023 CONMEBOL Libertadores is heading into its most exciting stages. On Wednesday, the South American governing body held the round of 16 draw, which determined the knockout phase bracket. Not only do we know who will face each other in the next round, but we can also start to predict the road to a hypothetical final.

Brazil will have six clubs among the best 16 of the continental tournament, since only Corinthians failed to advance in their group. However, we already know there will be less Brazilian teams in the following round as we will have an all-Brazilian clash.

Brazilian teams know their opponents in the Libertadores round of 16

The draw set up a number of highly anticipated games in the Libertadores round of 16. Athletico Paranaense will take on Bolivian side Bolívar, while Flamengo is set to face Paraguayan outfit Olimpia. There will also be Argentine opponents, with Fluminense drawn against Argentinos Juniors and Internacional vs. River Plate. Additionally, we will have an all-Brazilian duel: Atlético Mineiro and Palmeiras will clash for a place in the quarter-finals.

The 2023 CONMEBOL Libertadores round of 16 will take place between August 2 and August 7. The first leg matches will be held in the week of Wednesday, Aug. 2, while the rematch fixtures will be played the following week.
