I am very happy for having come to Palmeiras. Our team and fellowship is growing with each game and each training session. Clearly we still have to improve sufficiently so that the victories keep coming, but we have a great team spirit this season.

What has changed in your day to day activities since your move from São Caetano?
Marcinho
When people participate in a great team, the exposure that we receive and the responsibility that we get to perform is very increases. I matured very well at São Caetano, but now I am at a bigger club I feel that my performance needs to increase so that I can match the clubs ambition.

You have played for the Olympic Seleção, and recently against Guatemala for the farewell of Romário. Do you still think about selection for the World Cup in Germany?
Marcinho
I had a chance to play when I was at Corinthians, so I think that the possibility still exists, yes. Already I had chances to play when some players were injured, against Guatemala; in the Copa America last year I was informed when Fabiano Luiz hurt, what he wants to say was that I am being watched. My motivation is massive knowing I stand an outside chance of making the squad for Germany.

Which is the European club do you like the look of?
Marcinho
The clubs that interest me are: Lyon, Barcelona and Liverpool.

Do you think that a Brazilian player has more possibilities to play in the Seleção when they play for a Brazilian club? Or is playing for a European club the factor that makes the difference?
Marcinho
I find that this depends very much on the team for which the player plays. If it is good team Brazilian team, that is always fighting for the championship, then the possibility of being chosen to play for the Seleção is much better than going and playing for a minor European team.
