Veteran full back Cafu is dreaming of a fourth consecutive World Cup final appearance for Brazil.
Cafu has appeared in the past three finals and lifted the trophy at the last tournament in Japan/Korea two years ago.
But, despite the fact he will be 36 at the next World Cup in Germany in 2006, Cafu intends to carry on playing for Brazil.
After resolving a dispute with current coach Carlos Alberto Parreira, Cafu is now back in the national fold.
Along with Milan team-mates Dida and Kaka, Cafu was punished by Parreira after the Serie A champions failed to release the trio for a friendly against Haiti in August.
They were omitted by Parreira for a World Cup qualifier against Bolivia but are now firmly back in his plans.
With the matter in the past, Cafu has now trained his sights on a remarkable fourth final outing in Germany in less than two years’ time.
“There had been a few misunderstandings due to a failed call-up but now everything has been cleared,” Cafu told Corriere dello Sport.
“I wish to play in my fourth consecutive World Cup tournament in 2006 and, if possible, also a fourth consecutive final.”
