Portugal boss Luiz Felipe Scolari has backed Ronaldinho to win the Fifa World Player of the Year award.
Scolari managed the Barcelona star during his time as Brazil boss, and feels his performances for the Catalan outfit both this term and last make him a worthy winner of the gong.
“Ronaldinho is the best candidate for the 2004 World Player of the Year,” he stated. ”
“For me, his performance is no great surprise. ”
“I believe he deserves to win the prize because his play for the FC Barcelona has been sensational.
“Ronaldinho is a unique and wonderful player. I have not seen a player with his attitude or control of the ball for years.”
