Newspapers and televisions were very surprised when Ermanno Pieroni, the owner of Ancona, announced in January the signing of Jardel. Italian people remembered this forward for his strength and his killer-instinct. He scored important goals in Champions League against AC Milan when he played for Porto and Galatasaray. Then the Italian people could see the new version of Jardel. He is a fat man, a depressed player who spend all the time of the game looking around and hoping that somebody could serve a good ball to him. He only played 3 games in the League and then were sent back to Brazil.
