West Ham made a great start to the game last weekend by scoring in the seventh minute of the first half after Ward-Prowse took a corner kick and Aguerd converted the shot.

But 28 minutes in, Chelsea struck back with a deft move in the penalty area that took the ball from Chukwuemeka’s foot to the back of the net.

The sun seemed to shine for the Blues when they won a penalty kick. But Enzo Fernández dimmed that light when he played the ball into Areola’s hands.

Chelsea made a mistake, which West Ham took advantage of in the second half. Antonio’s accurate shot in the eighth minute made it 2-1. The Blue’s hopes were further dashed when Aguerd was dismissed after receiving a second yellow card.

West Ham hung on despite a last-ditch effort to win and made it 3-1 with a penalty kick after Caicedo fouled Emerson Palmieri.

Paquetá, who is being looked into for allegedly engaging in illicit sports betting, went up and confidently converted the penalty ending the match in favor of West Ham.

Note that even though they invested a lot in getting good players, Chelsea, led by Mauricio Pochettino hasn’t won any games this season. This streak started with a tie against Liverpool.

Because of this, right now they’re in 14th place on the national league table. That’s pretty close to the bottom, where teams might go down a level.
