Neymar is nearing the end of his recovery from a torn anterior cruciate ligament and an external meniscus injury in his left knee. This injury, sustained during the match between Brazil and Uruguay in the South American World Cup Qualifiers, has kept him off the field since October 2023, but his return is drawing closer.
The Brazilian star continues to work out in the gym to get back in shape, and in recent weeks, he has been seen celebrating titles with his Al Hilal teammates. He only managed to play five games for the Saudi Giants, whom he joined from PSG, before the injury prematurely sidelined him.

The multi-champion Arab club estimates that they will be able to enjoy his play again in July, although they do not want to rush his return. Rehabilitation from an injury like his typically takes about eight months to avoid future complications.
In this context, Brazil is closely monitoring the progress of their number 10. There wasn’t enough time for him to be part of the squad for the 2024 Copa America in the United States, so it is estimated that his return will be for the first commitments after the continental tournament.
Brazil hosts Ecuador on September 5 and visits Paraguay five days later, both in the South American World Cup Qualifiers. These dates could mark the long-awaited return of Neymar to the Seleção.
Dorival Junior’s side is currently sixth in the standings after three consecutive losses, including the defeat to Argentina at the Maracanã, which ended their historic unbeaten run in this competition.
