Following six rounds of unexpected results, teams on a streak, others in crisis, and very few at the top, the CONMEBOL Qualifiers for the World Cup in Canada, the United States, and Mexico in 2026 will return to our screens in September.

The Brazilian national team, now led by Dorival Júnior, will try and right the ship after poor results in the first six rounds. With 12 matches still to be played and aiming to return to the top of the table, Brazil will face six critical tests in 2024.

When will Brazil play?

Brazil’s last match in these qualifiers came on November 21, 2023, when Argentina secured a historic victory at the Maracanã, winning 1-0 with a goal from Nicolás Otamendi. This defeat, which followed other losses, eventually led to the firing of interim coach Fernando Diniz.

Brazil will return to the CONMEBOL Qualifiers in sixth position on the table with just 7 points in six games (three defeats, one draw, and only two wins).

For the rest of the year, Brazil will face six more matches (18 possible points) which are crucial for getting back into the World Cup qualification race:
