Queen Marta entered the field in the second half of the Brazilian debut against Panama, this Monday (24), for her sixth World Cup. The number 10 of the Brazilian National Team replaced the top scorer in the match, Ary Borges, who scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 victory at the Hindmarsh stadium, in Adelaide, Australia.

Even after playing six editions of World Cups and five Olympic Games, Marta revealed that hearing the Brazilian anthem being played is emotional.

“I always get emotional when the anthem is played, it’s something that is mine. I went back in time 20 years when I heard the anthem and I remembered my first World Cup, when it was a very different moment than what we live today. Sometimes when I speak, I feel that people don’t understand what was different, and everything was different from the first time”, said the alagona, who played in her first World Cup in 2003.
