Danilo was the first Brazilian player to talk after the Tuesday 4-2 loss to Senegal. The right-back said that players must be more responsible and do more on the pitch in order to help their interim coach Ramon Menezes.

He didn"t want to provide details on whether it is right or wrong to wait for coach Carlo Ancelotti, who still has one year of contract with Real Madrid.

What Danilo said after the defeat

“Ramon has been growing, he has respect and support from all of us, but I said the other day that we players also assume responsibility, to give more of ourselves [on the pitch]. The National Team has already given us so much. It"s our time to take that and help it," said Danilo to SporTV.

“We have to be cautious in that assessment. We have new players, change of system, particular friendlies moment, I would say, with many players on vacation and returned. It is a particular moment. We have to be cautious in the assessment, but we cannot make excuses and we can"t make a figure like that against a strong team. We have to learn quickly because the demands are high."

“It"s what we pass on to the president, and it"s up to us. Let him define a plan and we"ll help make it work. I don"t know if I or A or B will be in the next call-up, but whoever is there needs to do everything possible for the plan of the president to function."
