After the frustration in the debut match, when Brazil was defeated by Italy, the South American side finally rose in the FIFA U20 World Cup, a tournament played in Argentina. Last Wednesday, the team managed by coach Ramon Menezes defeated the Dominican Republic 6-0, in a match played in the city of Mendoza.
With the result, Brazil is momentarily second in Group D, with 3 points. The first place belongs to Nigeria, Brazilian rival in the third round. The match will be played on Saturday. Italy has 3 points, but is at a disadvantage on goal difference in relation to Brazil. The Dominican Republic has no points so far.

“I’ve been working with this group of athletes for over a year now. I know very well what these athletes can do on the pitch. The athletes understood that we didn’t have a good debut match. Today in the second half, we had that reaction, which is the trademark of this group of young guys: reacting. They had this spirit, with attitude”, said coach Menezes after the match.
“We forgot what happened in the game against Italy, and the confidence remains the same. Today we played a great game to gain even more confidence in the World Cup”, added Sávio, who stood out for Brazil in the game.
