The Brazilian national team is going through its most difficult moment in years. Tite resigned to his post as manager after the elimination in the last World Cup, and the Seleção has been without a manager since then. Even though Qatar 2022 is already many months behind us, Brazil still has Ramon Menezes as interim coach.

In the meantime, the Canarinha has already suffered two unexpected losses against Morocco and Senegal. Fortunately, not everything is bad news for the five-time world champions, as the latest update to the FIFA ranking continues to see them in third place, behind Argentina and France.

Brazil remains on the podium

With 1828.27 points, the Seleção remains firmly on the third step of the podium. However, it is important to note that the Brazilian team have dropped 5.94 points compared to the previous update released by FIFA. This slight drop reflect the ups and downs in recent friendlies.

FIFA considered various fixtures for its latest update, including friendlies, Euro qualifiers and UEFA Nations League and CONCACAF Nations League Finals that took place in June.

Brazil have had a mixed record after the 2022 World Cup, with one win and two losses. In March, the Verde-amarela suffered a 2-1 defeat against Morocco. They bounced back by beating Guinea 4-1, but their momentum was shattered by a 4-2 loss to Senegal.
