Ary Borges had herself a night in the 4-0 victory against Panama. She participated in all four goals by scoring a hat-trick and providing one assist to Bia Zaneratto. The 23-year-old player was subbed off the field to give place to Marta on the second half.
“Not in my best dreams [she could imagine the hat-trick]. It was a very special day, a mix of emotions. I was happy, anxious, I cried, in short, I was thinking about what I could do in the match. I never imagined it would be the way it was. I"m very happy for the three goals, but much more for the great match the team played. The most important thing was to leave with the three points," she said.

“It is an honor to be part of this select group of great players in the history of the Brazilian national team (who scored three goals in the same game). I have the chance to play with the greatest of them all, Marta. It represents very well the dream of each one that is here. She is an example for us, how much we admire her, seeing her on the field. Another special day, something to tell my family about for the rest of my life," Borges complemented.
Brazil plays next Saturday (29) against France at 7am (Brasília time). This is probably the hardest game for the national team in the group phase, which is led by it with three points. France and Jamaica have one point.
