Ana Vitória has left Benfica and signed with PSG just before the World Cup. She is now with the Brazilian National Team in Australia in order to play in the tournament, but evaluated her choice in an interview with Ge.

She sees the movement as a natural one in football, as the French League is stronger than the Portuguese League. At just 23 years old, Ana intends to look for space also in the national squad, as she eyes a sport in the midfield.

“It’s a big turnaround. I say for the club itself because PSG is a protagonist club, ambitious and has ambitions at European level, which is my second biggest ambition, the first is to win a World Cup. The League is more competitive. Those were the two main reasons for choosing to leave where I was. I don’t want to say that it’s a comfort zone, but it’s a place I’ve been in for almost five years and I don’t have so many challenges anymore. The key turn I thought was necessary. I’m very excited to start the project,” she said to Ge.

For the World Cup, Ana sees this an opportunity to shine.

“I’m fine, despite being at the end of the season. The season is over. We had a few days to try to recover as much as possible because it was a very exhausting season and you have to have these days to not accumulate. If you accumulate, no matter how hard you work, that work doesn’t pay off. We took a few days off for the body to rest and soon after there was the preparation part at the Granja with all the athletes who were already on vacation. We managed not to drop the level.”
