The facts date back to May 21 at the Mestalla stadium. While Real Madrid faced Valencia in the league, Vinicius was the target of racist insults from some Valencia supporters behind his goal. Shocked by these intolerable comments, the player reported the facts to the referees, leading to a temporary interruption of the match.

Thanks to video surveillance images provided by Valence CF, the police were able to identify two other supporters in addition to the one designated by Vinicius. The club announced the lifetime ban of these three supporters from the Mestalla stadium. Aged 18 to 23, they have already testified before the judge and are being prosecuted for an alleged hate crime.

The testimony has already been postponed twice, initially scheduled for September 28 and then October 5 due to Vinicius’ trip abroad. These postponements are solely due to organizational reasons of the courts and have not been requested by the player or the parties.

Vinicius will have to answer questions from the investigating judge and other parties, including La Liga, the RFEF and Real Madrid as the prosecution, and the defenses of the 3 accused supporters.
