What eleven will Real Madrid field in the UEFA Champions League final?

Real Madrid will be able to count on its trio of Brazilian stars to face the important match against Borussia Dortmund, since they are all in optimal shape and, barring a last-minute surprise, they aim to see important minutes in the grand final.

The only one who might not start as a starter is Militão, but both Rodrygo and Vinicius are expected to play a key role in the match.

On the other hand, Real Madrid has already confirmed what will be its squad list for the match and although it was initially said that Lunin would not attend the final due to a case of influenza, he has finally entered the squad.

Injured, suspended and doubts

Looking ahead to this match, Real Madrid will only have one confirmed absence and two doubts in relation to their most usual schemes.

The Austrian defender, David Alaba, is completely ruled out due to an injury to the anterior cruciate ligament and both Tchouaméni (Foot Injury) and Andriy Lunin (Illness) are doubts for the appointment.

Real Madrid does not have any player suspended for this event.

Probable alignment

Taking this into consideration, this is the scheme that Real Madrid could propose for the grand final of the UEFA Champions League.

The goal would be the Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who would only start if Lunin does not recover from his flu before the grand final. Dani Carvajal and Ferland Mendy would be the starting full-backs, while the defense would be led by Rüdiger and Nacho.

The merengue midfield will suffer the painful loss of Tchouaméni, who does not aim to play despite having entered the squad, so Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos and Valverde would be in charge of creating play in Madrid.

The attack, as it could not be otherwise, will be led by Jude Bellingham from his versatile “10” position, while Rodrygo and Vini will occupy the flexible offensive positions proposed by Ancelotti.

  • Probable Real Madrid lineup : Thibaut Courtois | Daniel Carvajal, Antonio Rüdiger, Nacho, Ferland Mendy | Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos | Jude Bellingham, Rodrygo Goes, Vinicius Junior

Possible Borussia Dortmund lineup

Borussia Dortmund, for its part, aims to propose a scheme very similar to this one for the grand final:

Probable Borussia Dortmund lineup : G. Kobel | J. Ryerson, M. Hummels, N. Schlotterbeck, I. Maatsen | M. Sabitzer, E. Can, J. Sancho, J. Brandt, K. Adeyemi | N. Fullkrug

Remembering Zagallo

Sambafoot Series launched a new documentary about the football legend Zagallo. Known as ‘Velho Lobo‘ and as superstitious as it gets, Zagallo helped shape what Brazilian football is nowadays — as a player and as a coach.
