Vini Jr.’s potential move to the Saudi league could bring a substantial windfall to Flamengo’s coffers.

According to information from The Athletic and ge, the Saudi Public Investment Fund would be ready to pay 1 billion euros (around 6 billion reais at the current exchange rate) to secure the services of the Brazilian star.

If such a transaction is completed, Flamengo would be entitled to 2.5% of the total amount through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism, which would represent 25 million euros (150 million reais).

However, on Tuesday (13), Spanish newspaper Marca reported that an amount of 1 billion euros is unlikely, and that an offer of around 200 million euros (1.2 billion reais) is expected to be made to Real Madrid in the coming days.

Based on this projection, Flamengo’s 2.5% share would amount to 5 million euros (30 million reais), given that they are Vini Jr.’s training club.

Potential earnings from Vini Jr.’s transfer from Real Madrid could be big for Flamengorival with other big transfers involving Flamengo. Recently, the club has been raking in notable sums from the sale of its most valuable assets.

In 2020, Flamengo sold midfielder Reinier to Real Madrid for €30 million (R$136 million at the time). Two years earlier, Lucas Paquetá had left the club for €35 million (R$150 million) to join AC Milan.
