Luisão

Luisão, who arrived at the club in 2003 from Cruzeiro, will go down as one of the most notable central defenders of Benfica’s modern era. Often captain on the field, he symbolized the warrior soul of the team during his 15 seasons at the club. Solid as a rock behind, he greatly contributed to the 10 championship titles won between 2004 and 2019. Gentle and respected internally, Luisão has built a true legend within the Lisbon club.

Ederson

Ederson also left his mark after his arrival at the club in 2014. Quickly established as one of the best goalkeepers in the world, he defended the Benfica cage brilliantly for 3 seasons, actively participating in the 2 championship titles won. Proud at just 30 years old to honor the club legend.

Jonah

Another major Brazilian gunner during this period, Jonas played between 2014 and 2019 at Benfica. Recognized for his extraordinary finishing ability, he and Cardozo formed a formidable offensive duo. His stats speak for themselves with 77 goals in just 110 appearances. Under his magic wand, Benfica conquered 4 new championships and a national cup. Supporters will long remember his silky technical sequences.

During this historic presentation, Jonas said: “It is an honor and immense pride to be part of this wall alongside the club’s greatest legends. Benfica will always remain in my heart.”

Their names will remain inseparable from this golden period in the recent history of SL Benfica.
