2023 is over for Vinicius Jr., a Real Madrid winger who, on the qualifying round against Colombia in Barranquilla, had to come off as a substitute after a crash that caused him to feel some discomfort in his left leg. The Canarinha attacker walked out with obvious discomfort and limped to the bench, where he was treated by kinesiologists, who put ice on his leg and bandaged him to mitigate the pain.

After finishing the match, Vinícius confirmed that he felt severe discomfort in his left leg that reminded him of that injury that prevented him from playing for Real Madrid at the beginning of the season.

Vinicius Jr. suffers a tear in the biceps femoris with involvement of the distal tendon of his left leg

In August, Vinicius suffered a hamstring injury that kept him off the field for just over a month and, despite the initial diagnosis suggesting that his recent injury would not be so serious, the white club has confirmed that the Brazilian star He suffers a delicate injury much worse than the previous one.

Vini suffers from a tear in the femoral biceps with involvement of the distal tendon in his left leg, an injury that, according to the Madrid press, would have a recovery time of around two and a half months in the best of cases and three if the Recovery is not going as planned.

Diario Marca asked a specialist doctor about Vinicius’ injury, the Spanish traumatologist Pedro Luis Ripoll, who analyzed Real Madrid’s medical report as follows:

“Bad news is piling up in the White House. The latest medical report that we know about Vinícius is not favorable for the player’s expectations. This is a significant injury to the biceps femoris, the worst area in which a footballer can be injured, which is the lower part (of the leg), and in addition it affects the tendon.” The specialist began to explain to the Marca TV microphones.

“When the injury is limited to the muscle fibers, its prognosis, being uncertain in the hamstrings, is usually more favorable. When it affects the tendon the prognosis is less favorable, we are talking about an injury of around three months for a complete recovery and adequate readaptation.”

In this way, if Dr. Ripoll’s diagnosis is correct, Vinicius would not set foot on a field again until the end of February or perhaps March 2024.

However, this specialist warns Merengues and Brazilian fans, since this injury is especially serious due to its possible relapses: “Because of these injuries, the main danger they have is relapse and 30% of those who suffer this type of injuries relapse. In conclusion, he will require a serious injury readaptation that must be very meticulous so he can return safely and complete the season without suffering relapses.”
